I don't think it's common practice to embed needles into haystacks, so you might actually have a hard time finding one.  Good luck though?

find a metal detector & maybe it'll find it for you.

put it in their yourself and remember where it is then come back later and find it. or just painstakingly look for it. it takes time but needles in haystacks are usually worth it!
