My daughter is really into reading and outside of school, does not talk to children (none in the neighborhood). I"d like to find her a penpal either online or snail mail. But alot of sites you have to pay for! Where can I look?

  1. is there a reading club at the library, it can be a great place to meet other children with similar interests and is "usually" a safe place.  are you near a military base or guard unit? there are many servicemen and WOMEN that love to get mail.  my twins 3rd grade class wrote to all the men my husband was serving with.  do you have nieces or nephews out of state? have her write to them, or if your parents have friends that have other grandchildren have them help.

  2. Talk to her teacher she should be able to give you advice or maybe even find your daughter a pen pal for you. Good Luck

  3. maybe magazines

  4. ask the local library or school they might have some programs that connect kids of the same age through writing... its best place to start if they don't they might be able to connect you to someone that can help. the Internet sadly isn't a very reliable source for finding young people but good luck in your search.

  5. girls life magazine has a great program for that. checkout girlslife.com

  6. Talk to your childs school or go to the local library.

  7. well my mom found me a bunch of pen pals on yahoo! groups maybe check there?

  8. penpalsnow.com is a very good place, she could get a 11 year old penpal willing to chat!!!
