I have searched far and wide for pizza similar to Valentino's in Nebraska. For those that don't know, its DELICIOUS and hard to imitate, its a Husker tradition. I moved to LA years ago and never found anything close. Now I live in San Francisco and was wondering if anyone in the city has tried this delectable treat they call Valentino's Pizza and if there is anything remotely similar to it in SF? I have tried Tommasso's, very good, but not Val's. And don't say Golden Boy...its not that great, peeps.

  1. paulines on valencia

  2. The simple answer is you won't find any comparison to Valentinos!

You probably should move back to Nebraska would be my answer.

  3. You can't find the same thing. Just go to Blondie's on Powell by the cable car turnaround. See the grease soaked box, feel the grease on your chin, look at the grease running down your arm and dripping off your elbow. Now that's a pizza!!

  4. Haven't been to Nebraska, but what is their pizza like? Thin crust, cheesy, sauce, toppings...etc. With more info someone can maybe help you narrow down the selection. I can name great pizza's in SF, but do not know if they would be anything like Valentino's.

** hmmm.... got me stumped on this one....
