Where can I find a pool table whose top (playable surface) comes in more than 1 solid piece?

Question

I have to get a pool table up into my apartment, but a regular pool table wont fit because the top, the playable surface, usualy or as far as i know always comes in one solid piece, so it doesnt fit up the 2 story stairwell. Does anyone know where I can find an 8 foot pool table that can be taken apart in a way that will alow me to easily get it installed in my apartment? Thank you for all your help.

most quality tables come with 3 piece slates

There are several brands of pool tables that come with 2 or 3 piece slate tops. Brunswick , Connelly and Diamond just to name a few. Make sure you have plenty of help on hand because these slate pieces are very heavy. It wouldn't hurt to have a dolly of some kind at your disposal. If you are not too familiar with setting up a pool table it's a good idea to have it done professionally. It costs some money but in the long run it is usually well spent. good luck to ya.
