Go to a thrift store or vintage clothing store, and get a vintage dress.

Many girls like the idea of having prom dresses that are unique... you can go to a tailor, seamstress, dressmaker etc. for help and ideas on designs, but they might be a little more pricey just because they would be starting from scratch... just make sure you find someone reliable... hope i helped! :P

If you have the money to blow, fly out to Paris and have one custom tailed for you :) If not scan the classified section, look for ones for sale, and tailor it to your needs :)

Thant's simple.  make it yourself or have a seamstress make one for you.  patterns are easy to find, and the materials and embellishments will be 100% you.  no one else will have one.  and, most patterns are easy to change so that even the design of the dress is unique.  best of all though, your friends will be soooo jealous.  you will even be able to say you designed it yourself.  prom today, Paris runway tomorrow.  lol    you go girl
