Question:

Where can I find a schematic for my 1999 Ford Taurus air conditioning system?

Air conditioner was working intermittently. Some days it would work; at other times it would only blow warm air. Sometimes it would not work then during the day I could notice that I felt a bit of coolness (I then could turn the fan up and it would work fine). Of course, it worked the opposite also starting out OK and then quitting. Now it doesn't work at all. Any suggestions are appreciated. But I would also like to know where we could find the schematic (Auto-zone is out of the question. Customer service in Anna, Illinois is a joke). Thanks for any help. My girlfriend has cerebral palsy, and really doesn't need to be in this much heat.

  1. you really have to take it to a shop, it`s almost 10 years old now anyway...

    heres why...

  2. Sounds like a bad connection at the clutch on the compressor, for an intermittant fault like that thats where i'd start looking and work back form there.. usually in an a/c cct there will be a High/low pressure switch, deicing relay, and thermostat in line theres not much that can play up intermittantly unless its a bad connection on either of those components..Start at the clutch and make sure that it is engaging properly sometimes the dust cover gets packed full of dust and S**t and doesn't fully engage at times...

  3. I hate to say this,  but the correct schematic is unavailable to the consumer.   It is usually limited to dealership service departments.
