  1. The Law of Magic is that Law which creates change. Physical change comes about through the change of consciousness.

Consciousness changes in response to anticipation. Anticipation results from imagery and preparation, fears and desires, based on fallacies or facts. Preparation for change, changes consciousness, which results in physical change.

The quality and quantity of description and imagery, the intensity and consistency of attitudes and actions,

the collective or disruptive energies of others, all work together to influence the direction and course of the change.

Every entity to some degree, for good or ill, is both victim and master of the Law of Magic.

  2. One book I'd highly recommend is A Treatise on White Magic by Alice A Bailey.  It used to be available online but the publishing company has removed it, sorry to say.

A brief description posted in a book review section reads as follows:

    5 star - A Treatise on White Magic - 2001-09-11

In this book, the 15 Rules of White Magic are explained in detail, each relating to a specific plane, each demanding a definite state of mind in order to obtain sought after results. For instance, Rule I requires Recollection leading the way to Concentration. Rule II demands Response leading to Interaction between the Higher and Lower Self. Rule III is Radiation, which is a Sounding forth, etc. Rules I through VI relate to the Mental Plane, Rules VII through XI to the Astral Plane. Rules XII through XV to the Physical Plane. The whole of man is taken into consideration; the whole of man is at work with White Magic.

  3. Talk to someone who is connected with the WICCA movement they may be able to help. OR, search the WICCA movement (religion) on the net

  4. The laws of magic are quite ambiguous and not completely understood. In fact, some of them are mutable to the point of being whatever you want them to be.

If you search long enough, you will come up with several different rule sets. Find one that works for you or figure it out on your own, or better yet, find a way to put them all together.

  5. I recommend reading "Real Magic" by Isaac Bonewits and "True Magic" by Amber K to get a more thourough grasp on it.  However, Mysterious Bob is quite correct: there doesn't seem to be any hard and set rules about what the "laws of magic" are.  If you don't want to buy the books, go to this site for Isaac Bonewits' laws of magic.

By the way, be careful: magic is quite dangerous, especially in the hands of mere dabblers.
