We have been looking for a wedding band but have had many problems finding one because he needs a size 19.. (not joking ) we have tryed many stores and they say that they can not even order a ring this large because they dont even have molds that large. We have found one store that can make it but it is very expensive and will take several months to come in.

if you know of anyplace online that I could order from or any stores in the detroit area I would appreciate the info.

we have considered tattooing the ring on but woudld prefer a real ring if possible.

  1. Buy any ring you find and have it resized.  True, you are going to probably be required to purchase the ring as big as possible and then pay the extra fee for it to be resized but when you have such an unusual size there is going to be some backlash.

I don't know what kind of jeweler you've been talking with but anywhere that does custom work can certainly make you something.  You just won't get the usual discounts that people who can buy pre-made items from stores like Zales can take advantage of.

  2. This place says to contact them if you need bigger than 13 -

This comes in 17, which can probably easily made larger - check around the site, too -

My husband has big hands, too, but needs a larger size just to get over his knuckles, then the ring is big once it's on. So we're looking into getting a ring with a little hinge on it that allows it to be bigger to go over the knuckle, then you close the hinge so it fits on the finger itself.

If that's the case with your FH, it's like this -

  4. Go to someone who makes rings. There are usually local jewelry makers or private gold/silver jewelry smiths in most cities. You can not only get a ring that fits, but have them design one as well.
