Where can I find a solid mesquite dining table in Mexico?

I found a beautiful dining table in AZ and know it was imported from Mexico. I would like to travel to Mexico to purchase one.

(Note for Ignacio D.) Cutting down alive Mezquites is illegal. Furthermore, green wood isn´t good for carving.

There are several carpentry and wood carving (mezquite and Palofierro) workshops here in Hermosillo and Kino Viejo bay (Sonora state). Those kind of tables aren´t common. I ve seen just a couple of it. I think its better to contact a workshop and place and order. Here is a link to a lot of serious carpentry workshops in Hermosillo...

To late, mezquite wood is now forbidden in Mexico since now mezquite is a protected plant species. In my hacienda in Jalisco we were sued with a fine of 60 000 pesos (6 000 dolars) for cutting down two mezquites which were bringing a fence down.

If you get a mezquite table it will be an illigal table and it will be even more difficult if you want it to cross the border.

I am in Jalisco state, in the border to Aguascalientes State. Here (in both states) it is illegal to cut mezquites, you need a special permission. Therefore, that wood is expensive; but you can find it and buy it.

A good place to find mezquite wood furnitures is in Dolores Hidalgo city, at Guanajuato state. My Father in law bought there a big table with their chairs (for twelve people). I'll find out how much did it cost and where you can get it, and I'll let you know later.

By the way, did you realize how we spell "mezquite"?, this is the correct way in spanish, with "Z".
