Almost all fabric stores sell plastic sheeting in varying thicknesses.. It's on a huge roll and you just buy what you need. Best thing is they can be wiped up or taken outside and hosed down if needed. (mom of five)

I use plastic table cloths, the kind with a fabric underside. I just wipe them off with a sponge or you can even throw in the washing machine after you rinse it off. They cost about 3 or 4 dollars at Walmart.

You could use a carpet guard, they are those clear plastic sheets that go under a chair at a desk, any office store should carry them, like Office Max.

They actually make mats designed to go under high chairs.  You can find them at places like Babies-R-Us but you will over pay for it.  Try Wal-mart, Target, places like that.

I used the plastic floor runners that usually are placed by the door or down a hallway to protect carpet.  I just cut it to size and it worked great.  You can get them at Lowes or home depot and they're really cheap.

Use a desk chair mat from any office supply store or walmart

I'd use the ones that are used in offices to put chairs on so they don't mess up the carpet. Those are very strong and easy to wipe up.

You could always get one of those desk mats for under the chair, could get one from any office store Im sure. Most of them are hard plastic or rubber, they lay flat and are designed not to move. They are pretty big also and clear.
