I need a high performance road bike for triathlons, but the new ones are very expensive (like thousands). I'm looking for a used trek, cannondale, motobecane, etc.. Not ebay thats too hard to dig through...

  1. ebay

  2. I would highly recommend craigslist for three reasons: 1) There's a huge selection if you live in a big city. I live in Denver and there are 100+ postings for new bikes everyday. 2) You don't have to pay for shipping if you buy locally. If you buy a heavy item (such as a bike) on eBay you will likely have to pay $40 - $100 for shipping. 3) Buying locally on craigslist gives you a chance to actually see and test the bike before you buy it. This way you can ensure that it's mechanically sound and that it's a good fit for your body size.

  3. An easy-to-browse-through free classified ads website is http://www.stumblehere.com.  You can find almost anything you're looking to buy and in your area, too.  Stumblehere's direct link to for sale items is http://stumblehere.com/search/subject-fo...

  4. Try ebay. You can actually get some decent road bikes for sale there. I also rcommend checking out some of the online sellers such as Performancebike.com or Bikesdirect.com . you can find some decent ones on both of those

  5. I don't know where you are, but in Canada I have had success with the classified section of Canadian Cyclist (See link).  I have bought 2 bikes through this site ... a GT titanium mountain bike and a Trek 5200 road bike.

There may be a similar site in your country.

  6. I just bought my used trek using this site. It's pretty well organized and they have just about every major brand along with a helpful forum with reviews from other bike owners. I paid just under $500 for mine with shipping and everything. Good luck!

  7. Try craigslist.
