  1. with an AA you can be a paraprofessional for LAUSD, starting at $14+ per hr.

  2. many public schools will take volunteers

also contact an agency like the ARC

    or national autism agencies

    visit www.njcosac.org

  3. You can babysit for me!

  4. The best way to find out about volunteering work is to contact local support groups in your area, your local library should have details on how to contact them. Also try calling national organisations like the National Autistic Society, they have a help line and a web site - NAS.org. Talking to parents who have special needs children is also a good source of information. Working with special needs children is extremely rewarding and you would get so much satisfaction from it, good luck.

  5. Nugent House School in Billinge, Wigan WN5 7TT, also, Pontville School in Ormskirk.. You will need a police check for both institutions.

  6. It is not necessarily a volunteer position, but public schools are always in demand for good teacher aides in the special education departments.  You would be able to work with students and teachers in the classroom and you could also get paid!  It is hard work, but very rewarding.  Typically no degree is records, but possibly some college credit.  Look online at the school districts in your area.  Schools do a pretty good job of posting openings often.  Good luck!
