Any of these should be helpful sources for you to start with.  Also, you can always volunteer at your local library, elementary after school programs, visit with the elderly at a nursing home, animal shelters (sometimes you have to be 18), church soup kitchen if you have one in your area, town/city halls can even use volunteers sometimes.

  2. It would actually be easier if you looked in your phone book in your area to find such places, etc. On-line, alot of it may not be in your area. However, you could type in "Places to volunteer in (type your area)" and it should tell you, etc.
