Go to Mercado Hidalgo in Tijuana. Just ask around where it is. As soon as you cross the border through the San Ysidro port of entry, stay in the middle/right lanes that go to Zona Rio. Once you pass the CECUT (the big ball building), you'll be at the turnabout with the "Scissors" monument on it, make a left and stick to your right, the market is on the corner. Question: Yes, it would take you about a 20 minute walk, or you can take a 2-3 dollar Taxi libre to the market. Cross the border walking, stay to the right and go right as you pass the Mexican customs tables (with the stoplights), go left after you go through the revolving gate, go past the yellow cabs and look for a row of Taxis that say LIBRE on them (red and white), ask the driver to take you to Mercado Hidalgo, make sure he puts the meter on, or arrange to pay only 2 to 3 bucks for the ride it's about mile form the border. Walking its a little difficult to give directions.
