Question:

Where can I find an English to Japanese sentence translator that gives me something in letters?

Regular letters (abc), not Japanese symbols or characters (放送). I have found a decent single word translator: http://www.freedict.com/onldict/j*p.html But I cannot seem to find a similar sentence translator.

  2. Umm. Well, you can do this very awesome thing.

You have to use a NORMAL translator that will give you the Japanese symbols. Then, copy and paste those  symbols into the box on this website:

    http://nihongo.j-talk.com/parser/?demo=1

    and click "KANJI TO ROMAJI"

    Kanji - Japanese characters,

    Romaji - roman (english) characters.

So you need to use the normal translators into Japanese symbols and then convert them into english characters.

All of above is legitimate only i have one thing to tell you.

    ONLINE TRANSLATORS DO NOT WORK!

Every online translator gives a very, very dodgy translation. They do not pick up on grammar structures, tenses etc. They don't give a proper translation therefore there is no point in using them. If you need anything translated from English into Japanese, use Yahoo! Answers. Ask a question titled "Please translate this English to Japanese" and people on Yahoo! Answers will give a proper translation, grammatically correct, everything right. And they will also write in English letters (roman letters)

Look out for answerers such as "askawow", CB400 (i think that is his name), Belie, 田中. They give very good translations.

    Hope this helps,

    Beau
