Where can I find an advocate to help me with my son's school?

My son is in the 5th grade and I need an advocate that knows the state and federal laws for my state and school district. I know there are people who help you with school problems who are not part of the school district. They are advocates for the parents. Anyone know where I could go to find one for my state, Nevada, Clark County School District.

  1. At every annual IEP they give you a copy of your parents rights. There are usually agencies on there that can put you in touch with advocates.

  2. I would recommend the following website:

    http://www.wrightslaw.com

They list a bunch of tips for finding an advocate here:

    This may also help:

  3. I agree with the person who said that you should look up one of the agencies listed in the parents rights section.

I think its great that you really care about your son. So many of my student's parents don't care at all
