I've heard this mentioned several places, including "Who Killed the Electric Car". Is there an article somewhere summarizing the history surrounding this?

There was a program on PBS about it a few years ago and I believe a book was written on it, might try a search on Amazon.

This says it best.  I grew up near an abandoned electric trolley car barn.  It was like us kids running through ruins.  Wonder if the building is still standing.
