I'm looking for an audio transformer that is capable of high voltage in the 5-10KV range...Are there any audio transformers made to reach voltages that high? Where can I get one, and if not what is the highest voltage I can get in an audio transformer?

  1. In theory, you can design a transformer to work with any frequency in the audio range and work into the 100 kv region. I built a transformer that worked at 20kHz and had a 2000 volt secondary.

But you would have to design it yourself or have it designed by a transformer company.

Depending on the frequency, input voltage, and power level requirements, a 60Hz high voltage power transformer, like a neon light transformer, may work for you.

  2. Try this site :

Transformers listed here do not specify voltages but are spec'd in terms of watts and resistance.

    Hope this helps.
