Next year, I'm going to be a freshman, and I was thinking about doing homeschooling. Where can I find a web site?

  1. www.keystonehighschool.com

  2. Try Keystone High School or PennFoster.I am a 17 year old boy currently homeschooled and am in my junior/senior year.I have been taking the PennFoster High School course for a year now and think it's a great program .Now I don't know what goes on at your school and the reason for you wanting to be homeschooled, but some really great advice from someone who has been home schooled for 6 years is to make sure you will be able to return to public school if you try and don't like being homeschooled.

Nothing is more frustrating  than wanting to go back to public school and knowing you can't.Now I don't like schooling in particular (I mean who does?) but if I could choose it would be public school.Plus being homeschooled and moving around alot  has been very hard for me to make friends.

Another important piece of advice is make sure you get along with your parents especially if they are the stay at home parents. Now a big factor in why I hate homeschooling is the fact that me and my stepmom don't really get along ( and no thats not my only reason why I dislike being homeschooled).Never have in 9 years. So I can't honestly say that I like being at the my house alot.

On the other hand when you become of age to work you can work as much as you want, but no more than federal laws and company policies allow you to.I am working now and am making $2.50-$3.00 more than any other kid my age in my area, though company policy only allows me to work only 25 hours a week as a minor.

I don't know about Keystone but all the tests in the Penn Foster course are open book tests, with 99% of them being multiple choice questions with around 20-25 questions. There are a few subjects that you have to send in reports like English and Written Communication (which is a small 3 to 10 page pr 750 to 2500 word essay on any topic)

So there are some pros and cons to being homeschooled. But it really comes down on you (if you are the one able to make the decision),or your parents. If you are making the decision I would ask your parents before you start, if after a year and you dislike being homeschooled see if you can return to a public school.VERY IMPORTANT!!! MAKE SURE THE PROGRAM YOU WILL BE TAKING IS ACCREDITED AND IT MEETS THE EDUCATION STANDARDS IN YOUR STATE!!Stepmom overlooked that until I told her. Here are the links to the high school courses I mentioned earlier, which are accredited in most states.

  3. Like the first person said... go w/ Keystone!!! They are the absolute best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Look up the term cyberschooling and your state.  This is not traditional homeschooling and you will find what you are looking for using this terminology.

  5. It depends on where you live.

I go to insight. (it a really great school, this is my first year)
