So, I've always felt bad for kids who were on their own. I've never been to a childrens home or anything, but I would love to go and spend time with some kids who maybe dont have anyone. I wanted to be a surrogate mother, and couldnt do that, I am an in-home daycare provider, and I have no kids of my own, I've also thought about fostering, but Im prob too young and my husband doesnt want kids yet, so I do have lots of extra time on my hands. I've tried to search for orphanages in my area but cant really find any. The area is Hampton Roads, VA. If someone knows of something, let me know. I love spending time with kids and to help some that need the love and attention they deserve would be a blessing.

  1. The USA abandoned the orphanage system long ago -- it now uses the foster care system for children who may not live with their parents, for whatever reason.

If you want to work with children, have you thought about being a Girl Scout leader? Or joining Big Brothers Big Sisters?
