Where can I find black and white floor tiles for my 50's style kitchen?

I'm doing my kitchen in a black, white, and red color scheme- 50's style. I want black and white checkered flooring, and I've seen tons of pictures but cannot find anywhere to buy them! Even the peel and stick vinyl is fine- it doesn't have to be super nice flooring. But I can't even find black or white floor tiles anywhere. Lowes and Home Depot do not have them, neither do major flooring brands like Armstrong and Mannington, nor does local flooring store websites. I'm getting so frustrated. Where do I go?

  1. You've probably been looking at residential flooring places. Try somewhere that sells commercial flooring. I just searched "commercial tile flooring" and found two different types made by Armstrong. One was called Excelon and had a solid black and a solid white. The other was called Biobased tile, and had a black and a white in that pattern that's definitely a colour but not solid. It's late and I can't think what you'd call it but you've seen it 1000 times. But if it's commercial flooring, be prepared to pay though it will last forever.

  2.    Like Karen said you ll have to go to more of a commercial application.. Most "mom and pop" stores will have sample boards to look at ...Ask for their VCT samples(Vinyl Compisition Tiles) Their the ones you see in grocery stores  for example.. You ll be paying more when you get into the red colors because of the red. It s a harder color to keep an even color so its more $.. Ceramic will give you a more athentic look but equally hard to find and again the red will run more  GL
