My mother-in-law just gave us a 29 or 30 gallon fish tank. (not exactly for sure on the size) I have a pump but need advice on what kind of heater and air pump would be best for this size of tank. Also where to get it from for the best price. I don't have much luck with the sites that compare prices, so some other suggestions please!

  1. There are in fact websites that sells aquarium supplies for cheap. You can try ebay or amazon.com, however, whenever you purchase items through these website organizations, you are taking risks. There is chances wrong items get sent to you, to you not receiving anything at all. You must do your research through yahoo search or google search and find some trusted websites that gives you a 100% satisfaction guaranteed, which is very hard to find because nobody or no company is willing to guarantee anybody any satisfaction.

However, through my experiences with ebay and amazon.com, I was satisfied, I did thorough research of the seller and usually I buy from the sellers that has online stores, not necessarily meaning online store as an ebay store, I mean a regular store.

Plus too, look at their percentage of customer satisfaction will help you determine if the seller is trustworthy or not.

Anyways, I hope that this helps, and Good luck to you...............

  2. Try a pet store or Craigslist or eBay.  If those dont work, try your local freecycle.

  3. http://www.bigalsonline.com/ they have pretty reasonable price's here. You want to be careful buying chemicals and food for cheap because they maybe old and mad. Check thegab.org for great fish articles and setting up your tank

  4. Petsmart has pretty good prices on supplies.  I get all of mine there.

  5. If you live in a city with a local Aquarium Society or Fish Club, a cheap source of everything aquatic would be from other hobbyists as they are always up-grading or downgrading their stuff. We always have an auction at the end of each monthly meeting. You can get some real bargains that way.

On the other hand, if you go to The Winnipeg Fish Forum,

             http://www.winnipegfishforum.info/

you can ask on there about clubs or forums near to where you live. Someone will be very glad to help you out.

Even if they can't, it is a super web site to visit.

  6. Go to Walmart or Target.

Petsmart and Petco costs way too much.

    Also try small pet stores.

  7. aquabid.com

  8. Try http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/Sh...

  9. target barely sells fish stuff! go to walmart or petsmart.

    EDIT ebay or craiglist.
