  1. This helps in hiatal hernia:

    - Small and frequent meals, instead of large meals

    - Not drinking during the meals, but 1/2 hour before or after the meals

    - Light meals. So, limiting foods which stay a long time in the stomach, such as proteins and fats: meat, eggs, whole milk, oil, cream, nuts.

If any food comes back into the mouth, it should be excluded from the diet.

If a heartburn is a problem, any acidic food should be avoided: fruits/fruit juices, vinegar, alcohol, and others what irritates the stomach: vitamin C, aspirins, drugs like ibuprofen. Also strong spices, and again - proteins.

    Other:

-Test for H. pylori may be recommended if she burps. H. pylori produce a lot of gas and triggers acid secretion.

    - She should not bend over, or lie down after the meal. She might want to rise the bed, so the head will be higher then feet - but only if she had acid reflux.

    Treatment:

If acid is a problem, anti-acid drugs should be used

If problem continues, an operation of the hernia is a good option.
