Where can I find cubes to make a Guinea Pig Cage in England?

Question

Its been driving me absolutely mad! I've looked in Staples, Instore, Argos, on the Homebase, Screwfix, Littlewoods, Wickes and B&Q websites.

Can anyone help me to save me trawling round the shops... I'm based in Manchester if that helps.

Do you have any hardware stores around or farm stores where you could get a small section chicken or turkey wire and some scraps of wood and build a cage much cheaper and give yourself a project to work on at the same time. Now get some scrap wood at a construction site or somewhere don't need much only need 24x12x8h inches inside dimensions for one pig and have fun. those pigs keep rats away too

I sympathise - I managed to get mine from Argos just when they stopped selling them (so at a discount too).

Amazon has some listed - search for "storage cubes".

Screwfix has mesh cubes available. From their homepage, go into "ironmongery" then into "shelving systems" and they are at the bottom of the list.

If you can't find cubes you can always build or buy a basic run (wood and wire mesh) and just add the coroplast base. It will work the same way.

I'm very impressed that you're working to find these cubes, your guinea pigs will be so happy after your hard work searching!

I have a friend in England who ended up buying her cubes off of Ebay. I'm sure as a last resort you could try that? She is very happy with her cage now!
