Where can I find figurines (like warhammer type) That are inexpensive (more details inside)?

I'm trying to make a board game and all thats left is to make the board and get the peices- but i need to get the peices first (to measue the spaces to fit the figurines in). The figurines i need are kind of like these

As you can tell these are very detailed- How ever my problem is that its too expensive and they come unassembled and unpainted-

What i need is a link to something that sells things like these.

Most importantly the base of the peices must be no bigger than a square inch, they must be inexpensive, and they must look nice... Helps if they come pre assembled and painted, or just assembled etc...

if you look at hat.com they have a whole lot of 1/72 scale models (about 1/2 the size of warhammer), but they are really cheap, you can get about 40 of them for $10 and they have a huge range

Heh.  You want miniatures of Games Workshop quality, for a lower price, pre-assembled and preferably painted?  You don't want much, do you?

Well, fortunately, you're in luck.  The French company, Rackham, has recently released a brand new science fiction wargame called AT-43.  The models are plastic, pre-assembled, pre-painted and a shade cheaper than the Games Workshop equivalent.

If you were looking for an equivalent fantasy range, though, I can't help you.  You may like to look at the WizKids range of Clix miniatures (HeroClix, HorrorClix etc) as these include LOTR models and others of a fantasy or fantasy-equivalent nature.
