  1. thatresourcesite.com has some nice things

  2. You could always use these two free resources, and alter the course slightly by putting in Catholic studies of your own. Still free/inexpensive and much less work than gathering every single subject together yourself.

Honestly, I am a Christian, and I find that little of OFE is directly religious. It can easily be tailored for that, however. It was put together by a Christian woman. :)

Also, you can ask around Freecycle for items you are needing/wanting, such as globes, dictionaries, etc.

  3. Florida Virtual Academy is the best online charter school in Florida that is free. Of course it is not catholic based. FVA uses a k12 curriculum that is excellent. Being catholic as well, I can tell you that you can supplement the religion classes with your own books. Maybe get some suggestions from your local parish.

  4. I use the ACE system. Australian Christian Academy.... unless you would rather a strict catholic thing not christian. It's not free but very worth it. It's educational and they are include all the subjects needed to pass school.

  5. Seton and Kolbe both provide financial assistance for those in need and are EXCELLENT programs (I've narrowed my choice to those two for my children based on viewing the curriculum plus from opinions of Catholics who've used these two schools curriculums).  Good luck and great choice in educating your children.

  6. The best free Catholic homeschool resource that I know is Mater Amabilis:  http://www.materamabilis.org/  It is a Charlotte Mason based approach.  It is very similar to Amblesideonline.org, except used by Catholics.  Obviously the books won't be free, however, but you could get some of them from the library or possibly even online.

There are some Yahoo groups that are especially for Catholic homeschoolers to buy/sell/trade used Catholic homeschooling books.  You might want to look at them.  There are a couple of them.

Catholic Herritage Curricula also has some free things.  Look at this page  http://www.chcweb.com/catalog/freecurric...

You might also want to join a local Catholic support group.  I know I usually just give my stuff away to families that could use it when I have finished with things.

  7. The  Angelicum Academy a great program IMHO and is reasonably priced.  You get college credit for its great books program - a big plus IMHO. Check out:

I am not Catholic but it program is so good I would use it anyway.

    Thanks

    Bill

  8. There are many different sites that have curriculum. Sonlight, Abeka. Also, I would suggest finding a yahoo group in you area for homeschooling. You can usually find other parents that are willing to share, give away or sell their old curriculum for a very inexpensive price.
