  1. First place would be to contact your local better business bureau

  2. You could use http://www.daycarebear.com

Simply input your zipcode and you'll obtain the closest childcare providers with available openings !

  3. Try the site below. Check the "Child Day Care" page. Seems to have some good info and a google search for daycare.

  4. Daycare and family liscened homes are inspected and through the state.  Usually, the Department of Regulatory Services.  Check to see if you local office has a web based site showing how each day care rates.

Also, as an experienced mother and a Child Development Specials who has gone into numerous day cares to work with children:

    1. Visit day care at different times during the day, if the day care is uncomfortable with parents visits, they may be hiding something,

2,  Some day cares now have web camera, look for one that does.

    3.  Ask friends, church members and other people you know who they use and how their children feel about the daycare they use.

  5. Do you have an organization there call Action For Children?  They can direct you to a quality, licensed daycare.  Good luck!

  6. Unfortunately I do not live in that area but if you wish to find a good daycare for your child then sometimes researching the hard way is the best way. Depending on what you are looking for in a day care depends on if it is going to be good for your child or not. I would suggest calling every day care in the yellow pages and asking them to visit the place in person. Going during nap time is not a good time to see the children and how the staff works. Interviewing the staff and watching the children will be the best way to find a day care that fits your needs. Also calling your child's pediatrician and asking their advice or if there is a children's hospital in your area they sometimes will provide you with a list of highly rated daycares. Also since your daughter is 19 months old you may wish to find an early start preschool. Some of these will allow children to start preschool as early as 18 months old. Hope this helps.
