Where can I find good discounts and/or free fares for kids when booking a cruise?

We are looking to go on a cruise sometime in the next 4 months or so and plan on traveling with a 3 year old. It seems a little pricey to pay the same price for his fare and alot of the 3rd and 4th berson rates don't seem to be that much cheaper. Is there a specific cruise line with great deals or is this just something you have to keep an eye out for? We are looking to do 4-6 day cruise sailing out of Florida, something in the lower range to begin with. Spring break would of course be the most convienent but I am sure we won't find many deals at that time. Mid May is also a good time for us...

  1. shop around to see what you can find and Ive also heard that if you wait for the last minute you can get great deals

  2. Third person rates are the best you will do.  I don't think you will feel that the rates are so high once you get on board and see what they get you!   Most cruise lines have extensive programs for children that age (Carnival's Camp Carnival starts with 2 year olds, Royal Caribbean's Adventure Ocean at 3).  Those are the most likley cruise lines for a 4 to 6 day cruise out of Florida.  They have nonstop great activities for these kids, including a large and talented children's staff.  When you are onboard your kids will be having a whale of a time!

So the cruise line deserves the ability to charge you for that 3 year old, and they will - they are putting a lot of money into the children's program your child is attending.  It will be worth every penny.

Carnival also has babysitting services (you have to pay extra for this) late at night until 3 AM.

  3. go to the cruises section in this page see if anything meets your requirements they have a special rates for cruises.

  4. Mid- May will be cheaper than spring break, and a different crowd for your kids.

Wave season is starting for all the cruise lines so anytime now you should some price breaks.

    Good luck with your search.

  5. Costa is running a "kids free" deal one day only on January 10. They are mostly 7-day trips.

"Two kids ages 17 and under sail free when sailing with 2 adults in the same cabin paying full adult promotional fare or Early Booking Fare; varies by sailing. Promotion not available on all featured sailings; call for applicable dates."

Note: They run similar offers from time to time. If you miss this particular sale, get on their email list.
