  1. If you're looking for eco-friendly area rugs check out this wonderful area rugs site:

    http://www.rugsdoneright.com.

I've shopped there and I had so many to choose from. Nice online area rugs store.

Also, more info about eco-friendly rugs:

    Good luck!

  2. make it (:

  3. The website www.treehugger.com has so many wonderful resources!  I could spend hours on there!  I also visit resale shops for many items.  It saves me a ton of money!

  4. Thirft and antique stores, yard sales, anything homemade (old things into new things).

Eco-friedndly means NOT buying new products. Even sustainable products still used resources and energy to harvest, create and ship...think of how many people had to drive to work to make the product, how much water was used in turning raw resources into finished products. Home decor is such a temporary thing these days, it's better to buy old and refurbish.

  5. Hi, here is one place that I like, it's focus is more fair-trade than eco, but have a look  http://www.fairtradeinteriors.com.

A great place to search for everything cool and eco-friendly is www.treehuggers.com.

    Good luck!

  6. The best place to find eco-friendly decor is in your backyard. Look for ways to bring outdoor elements indoors. How about a using an old garden urn as the base for a dining room table? Just turn it upside down and place a round table top over it, and voila! How about using old sweaters to recover the seat cushions of old dining room chairs? What about adding oil to a bowl of pebbles for some simply elegant potpourri! These are just some of the inspirational ideas that can be found in Danny Seo's book, Simply Green Parties. You can read more about his ideas here.

  7. I know it's totally self serving but my company Asian Art Imports sells decor made from recovered and sustainable woods. Take a look at www.asianartimports.com.

    Thanks,

  8. Destroy your house and live in a grass hut. Use only local materials only, but not wood, because trees are precious. The best way to eliminate your carbon footprint would be suicide, but since that is unreasonable I would say to not do anything at all to your house. The corporate masterminds have found a way to get you to buy products that are not environmentally friendly by saying that they are. Think about all of that gas that is burned by shipping it in from the West Coast. If you don't have a local vendor, then don't buy it! If you do have a local vendor walk, don't ride a bike (riding a bike means that you support non-eco friendly mining operations for that metal that your bike is made up of. Have you considered becoming a freegan?
