  1. Go to this website:

    http://www.readingkey.com/hwriting-t/prt...

You type in your childs first and last name and it makes a worksheet for you!

  2. You didn't say how old your child is. I would recommend that you start with preschool printing practice which focuses on tracing lines and various other items:

Next, use tracer pages, they are a great way to practice, and you can start with basic letters:

Move on to ones that allow you to type any word (such as your child's name) only after your child has mastered the basic letters - http://www.kidzone.ws/tracers/index.htm

Put all of the tracer pages that your child completes into a binder, so that they can refer to it later.

Finally, provide your child with handwriting paper, and let your child practice writing letters and their name all by themselves without tracing:

  3. Give him a cell phone. In the future, no one will know how to write anyway.

  4. I would hope in school. Otherwise I am going to home school my new daughter. They will teach her to spell it in spanish, my luck.

This is the method that I have used to teach my 4 year old to write his name and my preschool students.

  6. Go to http://www.fonts4teachers.com

Click on Font Samples from the left menu or click here

    http://www.fonts4teachers.com/site/fonts...

Order the most basic package that is like 10 dollors by clicking  on PRODUCTS from the left menu. It will show images of the fonts youre getting. And voila! The CD will arrive shortly after you pay and you can teach your child how to write his/her name by using the dotted fonts.

  7. A cheap and easy way to teach your child to write his name is to write his name on handwriting paper using a yellow marker or highlighter and have him trace it with a preschool pencil.  Watch him to make sure he holds the pencil correctly.  If his fine motor skills are not developed enough to use a pencil effectively try having him "write" his name in sand using his index finger.  Good luck!

  8. Depends on the child's age.  If the child is still really to young to manage a crayon effectively, then let him or her scribble first.  Afterward, you can write the name on  a big card, laminate it, and have the child trace over the letters with his/her finger, making sure to go in the direction the strokes should go.  Once that becomes easy, you can give the child a wipe off crayon or wipe off marker if you are supervising closely.  From there progress to copying, then independent writing.
