Where can I find images and information about family tartans?

I've been doing research to find images of what my family tartan would be. I've been rather unsuccessful, and was wondering if anyone knew a link I could visit.

The recognised authority based in Crieff Perthshire is the Tartans Authority Their web site is

Note that Scottish Archives have as a result of the Scottish Government's initiative established a tartan registration scheme  which is on their web site.

You sometimes have to research some clans to find your family.  Your family's last name may be different from the clan that they were part of. Try this site (go to surname search).  My scottish family name is Marshall but they belong to the Keith clan:
