I've been trying to search the Internet and my school library for information about artifacts, burial sites, archaeological projects, and the archaeological project leaders from the archaeological site, El Inga, in Ecuador? I'm having a hard time and was wondering if anyone had any resources that would be useful to find information that I listed above about it.

  1. The El Inga site is dated to be some 10,000 years old. Some of it's artifacts and date suggest that there was some relationship to the Clovis culture found in the United States. However, there are other artifacts that suggest a different style of hunting.

The site appears to have been used by a nomadic band and carbon-14 dating suggests a short occupation.

What's important is that the "Clovis First" concept has another strike against it. The dates at El Inga are almost the same as Clovis and would require quite a dash from Canada to reach the site so early in the Clovis scheme of things.

Several of the best articles are through JSTOR and require participating libraries and institutions to read.
