What I am looking for is the following: I was told by my doctor I need to lose a lot of weight before they do surgery on my back. If they did it now I could be paralysis. Plus being this large I might have to have emergency surgery if the disc slips more. The weight loss HAS to be done and in a quick and healthy manner. I want to know since Alberta Health Care will pay for Gastric Bypass, will they pay for me to do the Dr. Bernstein Diet?

  1. I wouldn't think they'd cover that, but the best way to find out is to call them.

    780-427-1432 (Edmonton)

    Toll-free in Alberta, dial 310-0000 then 780-427-1432.

  2. Did you ask your doctor? He might refer you to a specialist, if he tells you to lose the weight he should let you know how. Otherwise contact the health board.
