Where can I find information on 1950's Italy? (For a novel I'm writing)?

It's so hard, because it's mid 20th century - not current. I'm home-schooled, don't go out that much, but I have internet and library. Tips?

Thanks!

  3. Your best bet would be to try and find various news stories that took place during that time, like Italy's involvement in the Korean War or the Treaty of Rome in 1957 and try to find out their impact on Italy life in the 50's.    I agree it's hard to find information.  I was writing a screenplay that took place in the Renaissance in Italy and it was hard to find information but if you do detective work, you can find what you are looking for.  Good luck.  Wikipedia can help, it's more reliable than people give it credit for.

  4. ooooooooooooh what novel!!!

  5. The easiest way to do it is type 1950 Italy into your search engine. But, I'd recommend looking up movies based on 1950s Italy, that way, they'll have done all the work.

  6. It is going to be hard but find a travel guide book on Italy and use the oldest one that you can find.  Then find common locations that everybody knows.  It will give the book the realism that you are looking for.  Also try to find old newspapers and magazines that cover Italy.  Those are a goldmine, don't forget that advertisements are a great source of information.

  7. Try to find it in public library..........or go to italy to find it out.......
