Where can I find information on children who are given up for adoption each year?

I would also like to know to I can find information on how many children are currently waiting to be adopted or placed in foster homes. Thank You.

Call your county social services.  It would be way too hard to get an actual number if private adoption facilities are in play, but they can help you get started.

There are over 500,000 children in the U. S. foster care system at any given time!  

(A shameful fact for this, the "greatest country on earth"?)

The statistic that's on this website (and I've seen this number elsewhere, too, so I'm betting it's accurate) says that over 140,000 kids are in foster care across the US.
