Where can I find information on the number of magazines targeted towards men and women?

I tried the Audit Bureau of Circulation but I didn't know where to look.

WOW that would be extensive research, besides the well known magazine there are a ton of small niched magazines that are hard to get to. ABC is a good place to start, go to the main library in your city (if in NYC its the 42nd street library) and the librarian will point you in the right direction. or try emailing/calling ABC themselves and they can point you in the right direction.

If you are not restricted by the guidelines of your source then just go to the largest grocery store in your city. Stand in front of the racks and count. That will give you a good example and close %s.

If this is just a simple homework exercise then thats all you would need. If its for a paper then seek out polls online that have already tracked this.
