Question:

Where can I find investors for a short film?

I need to find $50,000 for a short film. Basically, there is not much chance of it making money, apart from random prizes i may win in festivals.

I can't approach the film funding bodies in Australia because of a few reasons (none bad), but I want to make a great short film that's respected and deserving of an Academy Award nomination.

Anyone know where to look for someone who wants to fund a short film (aka swapping $50,000 for an Exec Prod credit?)

  1. We suggest broadcasting your offer to investors at www.breadstreet.com . We have investors interested in films who may be willing to review your offer. A 15 Day trial is available.

  2. You can find someone depending on the topic of your film.  E.g. If it is about pets, you could get a pet food company or flea treatment company to sponsor if you add some product placement to the film.

They could then also use it for a promotion and it can be especially successful if you can turn parts of the film into an online viral campaign on Yahoo!7 Video and YouTube.
