  1. Stuffing envelopes is a classic scam. There are machines that do it quicker and cheaper than those "jobs" say they pay. However, there are many different ways to earn money online. What are you wanting to do? How much money are you wanting to make? How much time do you have to devote?

If you're wanting an actual job from home and have a lot of experience in a certain field, then go to job posting sites, such as Monster or HotJobs. Then, search through the type of job you're looking for and have experience in using you keyword "telecommuting".

If you're just looking for a little extra money for doing things that you may already do for free, there are a lot of options. These things include filling out surveys, reading e-mails, viewing ads, playing games, posting on a message board, etc. A Google search will find you a bunch of these sites and I can give you the ones that I've used if you want.

You could also have a home/online based business. You could start one from scratch or start one that's already set up for you. To start one from scratch, try making a list of your hobbies and skills and seeing a way to earn money from them. For example, if you like making bird houses, you could consider selling them.

To start one that's already set up for you, a Google search will find you a ton of different options. A lot of these do have some sort of cost associated with them (due to supplies usually), but there are free ones. I started a free home business that's working great for me.

I hope you find what you're looking for!

  2. Try Craigslist to find a local job you can telecommute with.

At-home envelope stuffing, "reading emails," data entry, all of that are scams. You MIGHT consider applying to a web answering service or becoming a virtual assistant, though. That field is getting pretty contaminated with scammers, so be careful.

Above all, keep it local in the event of a dispute.

  3. Take a stack of envelopes, a stack of paper, a stop watch.  Time yourself for one hour of taking 2 sheets of paper and folding them like a legal letter, put them into the envelope, l**k and seal. Then stamp. Do this consitantly for one hour.  When the hour is up, count the envelopes you stuffed and multiply this by 2 cents each.  This is what you'd make an hour.  Not a sufficient amount of income for you.

You need to look into telecommuting jobs.  What are your qualifications?  Do you know how to type?  Do you have good customer skills?

  4. Who would pay anyone to stuff envelopes.  There are machines that cost $135 which can stuff 300 per hour.  You will get scammed.  /
