Where can I find local auditions for movies?

I live in Atlanta, and Ive always wanted to act and be in movies, ive taken acting classes and i was louisa in the sound of music at my school when i was in middle school. But now im 17 and i was wondering how I could find out if there are auditions for movies or shows in the area or if they are all in LA?

ok, first of all dont use castingsaudition.com.  

the bigger shows and films do film in a bigger city like LA, but most of those you need an agent to audition for, and you aren't quite experienced enough for all that yet.  what you should do while you are in atlanta to build up your resume so that one day you can submit for agents and real auditions:

1. every school play you can

2. google atlanta community theater and try out for those

3. google atlanta student films or atlanta independent films; contact colleges with film programs to see if anyone is casting

4. take more classes, never stop taking classes

5. save money for awesome professional headshots

6. look into doing background work: google georgia film commission and see if they are filming anything locally and if they are having any casting calls.  always check your local newspaper for things like this too, there should be an arts or audition or talent search section

7. check backstage.com to see if they have anything local listed.  also actorsaccess.com

8.  start researching colleges with acting programs if you're really serious about this, and start NOW getting ready for your college auditions!!!
