Where can I find more info on getting a cremation license?

I have looked all over the internet trying to find more info on obtaining a cremation license....I would like to go to school or take classes..I just want to be a licensed cremator, not a funeral director or anything....I live in iowa if that helps..Thanks

You will want to check with the Cremation Association of North America and also whatever State Agency in Iowa governs the board of embalmers and funeral directors. Best of luck!

While you do not want to be a funeral director, this is the track you'll probably have to take -- your state license as an undertaker/mortician/funderal director will allow you to be licensed as a crematorium specialist.    This will also allow you to join the state funeral undertaker association (a powerfuly lobbying group and a quasi-government organizatin) and network with other licensed funeral directors, from whom you will draw much of your business.
