I want to know how much it cost to get someone to design a site, servers, ect ect. Please don't send me to one of these sites where you buy this guy's book and he promises you that you will make 100k a month doing nothing.

Thanks!

  1. I actually looked into this and the setup alone is $50,000. Plus you can't live in the U.S. if you are going to run it, and then you need an advertising budget of about $5,000 per month.

It will be about a year before you start to turn a decent profit, assuming the site does OK, and you will need to retain legal counsel fairly early on. So figure about $150,000 plus a year's work to get it going.

If you have the money and the drive to make it happen it's probably worth it, as even a small site should easily profit $350K per year. However there is risk in an unstable U.S. political climate so you could lose everything if certain laws pass.

  2. Thats a huge task your talking about. With adult websites they have layouts, pictures, videos, live feeds, etc....you can buy or rent every month to have content for your site, but I've never seen anything like that for poker or gambling sites.

The easiest thing to do is have a poker site that advertises for the big boys (Bodog, PokerStars, etc...). Your site may just have tips and tutorials. Some type of content.

The next kind of poker site owner I know that is possible to become is sites that use one big companys software and add a personal skin to it, so it has the graphics of their own site. One example is the Ongame network. It's one big network with a bunch of sites that look similiar, but say's each sites name. (Pokerroom.com, Hollywoodpoker.com and a bunch others all belong to the Ongame network.)

The best reason to use this method is they already have players at the tables. You offer customer support, but the money is somehow handled my them. You probally get a percent. But just think how hard it would be to get even a 100 players at your site at one time to play. Then you wouldnt even be able to play more than a couple tables. It would suck. Being with them guarantees they will always have 1000's of players ready to play, even if only 3 are playing through your site.

Now if you want to be a big boy like Calvin Ayre (owner Bodog), you would probally need a minimum of a million dollars. Thats a wild guess, but just assume you could hire someone to build the software for $200,000 min., the other $800,000 may be able to pull off some type of great, probally local, marketing that would get players to your table at the SAME time. You cant have a party when everyone shows up 10 mins apart and only waits for 5. If you get what I'm trying to say.

Anyway...I hope the helps. and maybe gets me a best answer. :)

  3. To work with a Poker website, is really a great business potential, but it will require a sound technical background and advanced server support. For this , you must contact a reputed web desing/development company of your area, which can provide all server assistance and technical job. I would like to suggest my favorate online marketing company, RupizMedia . I experienced their services and it is really fine and very professional.
