Where can I find my own personal Workman's comp insurance?

I'm an owner operator of an truck, and am looking for my own type of workmanscomp type of insurance. Basically I lease on to several companies and would like to have a workmancomp policy-its the law in Calif.

  1. From a company.  Start with the agent that does your trucking insurance - he should be able to get you a workers comp policy.  

    It's not going to be YOUR type - it's the state policy, required by law.  Workers comp is HIGHLY regulated.


  2. You can find many types of business insurance through a licensed agent in your state. They will be able to give you all the info on disability, workers comp, and much more. The California department of insurance will also be able to help with what you need to carry and where to get it.

    As a sole proprietor the State Fund is likely your best bet.
