Question:

Where can I find old, cheap bikes?

I'm working on a bicycle business, and we're starting to get customers. Some have talked about selling us bikes, but nobody has sold us one yet.

We had one bike ready to sell, but it was sold, and we already have somebody else looking for one. Any ideas on where to find old, run down bikes in the $20 range or less?

We've tried garage sales, they don't work very well.

  1. www.craigslist.org

  2. where i live we have a lot of tourists who like to come and they rent bikes all over the island. if you have any bike rental stores around, id suggest visiting at the end of the summer and ask about buying their rental bikes. I work at a surf shop and we do that every year come september. you can get some pretty cheap.

  3. pawn shop

    walmart

  4. try local thrift stores  goodwill yard sales  ever heard of a little website called ebay?

  5. See if there are any auctions in your area.  There are always tons of bikes at the ones I go to and they usually go for five bucks.  We also have swap meets that always have tons of bikes.  You might even place an ad or something.  There are many people who have semi junky bikes lying around that they don't use anymore.

  6. Put an ad in the paper.  There are tons of bikes in garages with flat tires that have seldom been riden.  Police auctions.
