  1. Start here.

    Good luck.

  2. Check out garage sales and flea markets.

  3. I would go on craigs list, you never know what people have on there, or check antiques roadshow. I have some from the 40-60's from my grandpa's old workshop. I don't know if they are worth anything, but its cool to see how they have changed over the years

  4. what type of vintage plate you are looking for? my husband has about 50 different U.S. old license plates that he is trying to sell.  we don't know any websites to sell them on.  maybe you can help.

  5. junk yard

  6. antique shop/ebay

  7. Sometimes you can actually get them from your DMV, but you have to have an antique car you wish to register.  They will give them to you so that when you put the car in a show it will look authentic.

Another place to look is the Hemmings Book, which deals with vintage car stuff.

Finally, I'd look online for the 1000s of vintage car clubs across the country.  I'm sure someone has what you're looking for.
