  1. find out your local family information service via the council website. you can also look at individual inspection reports on the ofsted website


  2. Local council, but always on the first session, pop back around 3/4 of an hour after to really see what the situation is to put your mind at rest.

  4. Like others said, local council. Anyone on their lists has to have been fully checked and approved, and their home too.

    If you want the unofficial lowdown, try your local mums and toddlers group. Every one I've ever been to has had at least one person there who knows EVERYTHING...

  5. Call your local council. They have many listed there, and if they are through the council, I would say they are very safe as they need police checks :)
