Where can I find out more history about my house?

The story on my house is very interesting, yet I dont know that much. Where can I learn more without having to pay?

  1. we got it free from the library, you should ask an employee at the library if they have information about houses in your community.

  3. Call the county courthouse and find out about all the owners thru tax records. That would be a great way to start. It's public knowledge so they have to tell you for free. Then maybe you can see if you can get in touch with any of these people thru usps.com. Or ask neighbors around you about people who owned the house prior to you. Google your address (but you probably will have to pay for that and sometimes can be useless). Good luck and I hope I helped some.

  4. City and county government, recorders office.  Do research on who owned it previous.  See if you can find then and interveiw the.
