If I dont already have any drivers... the reason of this is because I system restored awhile ago and my drivers just dissapeared after that... help would be great, when i try installing drivers it says "cannot find compatible drivers on your system" or something like that, the InVidia widget doesnt work either... thanks for your help.

  1. I am guessing you are using Windows XP.

From the start button/ go to the My computer icon\right click it properties\hardware tab\ click Device manager\

Once within the device manger under display adapters it will show your video card(s) name with a red X (driver not installed). now you know what kind it is. Go google the brand or model # and download the drivers.

  2. If you know which drivers you need then just go to the manufactures website and download them or try windows update.  If you do not know which drivers you need try DriverAgent

    http://www.driveragent.com/?PHPSESSID=m2...

Their free scan will identfy any unknown devices.  You have to pay for membership to download from them but all you need to do is note the make and model and find the drivers elswhere.

  3. Start>Run>DXDIAG

Go to the Display tab, and it should tell you what the name of your card is.  Download the drivers from the manufacturer site.
