Question:

Where can I find proof that there is more ice in the artic than environmentalists thought?

A few weeks ago there was a story on the news about how the same environmentalists that said that the ice was all melting had found that there was actually a lot more ice than they thought and that it wasn't melting at nearly the same rate. I know I heard it from two different news sources, but I can't find it anymore.

Can someone help me find the article? I remember reading it on CNN and hearing it on the radio. This is to settle a bet.

  1. I found some sources that make claims kind of similar to what you're saying.  http://www.slate.com/id/2192730/ says that there's more ice in Antarctica (not in the Arctic -- and note the correct spelling of Arctic if you search for it yourself).  And http://www.thedailygreen.com/environment... says that in the Arctic, ice is refreezing faster than usual.  (Both articles have caveats that those observations don't really mean much, but perhaps one of them was the source for some confused news organization claiming the ice in the Arctic is increasing, when it's not.)

  2. Arctic ice is melting at an unprecidented rate. Polar bears and seals and other wildlife dependent upon the ice floes for their survival are greatly threatened. Global warming is real, it is changing the landscape, temperature and lay of the land all over the globe. We can bury our heads and pretend its just going to all go away, or we can do our part to make the planet cleaner, boycott petrol (gasoline) usage whenever possible, use only what you need to get to work and necessary trips, and be sure you have a firm grip on what necessary really means. Follow instructions online for recycling, reusing materials and conservation.

  4. Have the neocon n***s`s whip up a nice dream for you to share as proof. Then research the NASA sights for satellite imaging of the real truth about what is happening on both poles. National geographic has done a nice job of researching unbiased findings. I would say they and NASA are good sources for starters.

I tend to believe it probably has to do with the earth tilting away a little from it`s common angle, placing the poles a little off center. This would also explain the mysterious weather pattern changes that have given us some pretty disturbing storms the last few years. It`s only a hunch that can attract some disturbing remarks.

Oh wait, that kind of disproves what you're trying to argue.  Sorry, I guess you lost your bet!
