Where can I find records for Dixmont Mental hosptial and Polk Hosptialin Pa?

Hi All-

I'm currently working on my family tree and found out a relative of mine was sent to the Dixmont Mental Institution that was in Pa at one point. They have since torn it down and replaced it with a Walmart.

I was wondering if it was still possible to find records. I also have relatives who were sent to Mayview Mental Hosptial and Polk both in Pa .. Polk although a new building is still in operation. Is there a way to get records for them to??

just courious as to weather they ever were released or died and also wondering why they were sent in there in the first place.
