  1. There is still an Asylum (mental ward in a District General Hospital as is

    now) at Lochgilphead. It was, until recently, part of NHS Argyll & Clyde,

    however it is now part of NHS Highland so I'm not sure where any records

    will be. It may be worth contacting the Argyll & Bute Archivist, also in

    Lochgilphead, she may be able to help :
